Rebecca is a librarian and educator committed to providing diverse, high quality books and resources to kids. Book ownership is powerful in supporting literacy, instilling pride and cultivating curiosity and life-long learning. She believes all kids should have access to books of their own, no matter their socioeconomic status.

Our history

Founder | Executive Director

Founder | Executive Director

The Community Book Project was founded in 2023 out of a passion for reading, literacy, libraries, and community. We are building three main programs all aimed to support our mission of getting books into the hands of children in and around the Seattle area.  We are looking forward to growth that will include all of WA state.

Our mission

We harness the power of books to transform kids and their communities. We provide new, high quality reading materials that reflect the diverse world around us. In addition, our science-backed programs support academic performance by closing the literacy gap for children in need.
