About Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Since launching in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has become the preeminent early childhood book gifting program in the world. The flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation has mailed over 200 million free books in Australia, Canada, The Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom and the United States. The Imagination Library mails more than 1.4 million high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to registered children from birth to age five. Dolly envisioned creating a lifelong love of reading, inspiring kids to dream. The impact of the program has been widely researched and results suggest positive increases in key early childhood literacy metrics. Penguin Random House is the exclusive publisher for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Our partnership with DPIL ensures Seattle area children will have an ever growing selection of books at home. By having free books mailed directly to their homes, we eliminate many barriers that would otherwise prevent these kids and families from enjoying quality, developmentally-appropriate books on a regular basis. DPIL books are thoughtfully curated to support early literacy and ensure Kindergarten readiness.
Your contribution will have a significant impact on the well-being of both our children and communities. We heavily rely on the generosity of our donors to assist us in covering the expenses associated with providing books to the children we support.
Our estimated cost is $25 per child per year. With this amount, we can supply a brand-new book every month for an entire year. This enables a child to accumulate a home library of 12 books annually, resulting in a total of 60 books by the end of the program. This plays a vital role in early learning and sets the stage for future academic success. We invite you to join us in constructing a solid educational foundation for the children of Seattle. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for being a hero to these children.
We currently have more than 2,700 children enrolled and this number grows daily! Please give generously so that we can continue to grow and reach more and more kids.
